Cameras

This is my one and only camera body at the moment but does everything that I need it to do and more. Initially, I started out as a Nikon shooter with my first camera being a D60 and then the D300 soon after before I decided to make the switch to Canon. The main reason was at the time the only way to get above 12mp was to get the crazy expensive Nikon D3x. One of the big things people say is don’t get caught up in the megapixel race and that’s true to some extent. In my case, I was trying to break into the commercial industry where it starts to play a big factor. This camera has 21mp which is almost double what I was using before. The other big change was moving from a cropped sensor camera to a full frame. The one other huge plus about this camera is the video capabilities. This camera was basically the start of the HD DSLR craze. This however, isn’t a plus or minus for me because it’s not something I’ve ventured into yet. There are definitely some shortcomings like any other camera available. The autofocus could definitely be improved and for some of the sports work that I do I would love to be able to shoot faster than 3.9 fps. The pros vastly outweigh the cons and this will most likely be the camera I stick with until an upgraded model comes out (which will hopefully be soon!).
